Shirl Don LeBaron – Attorney

Mr. LeBaron has 42 years of experience in practicing law. He obtained his undergraduate degree from BYU and his law degree from the LSU Law School. He founded LeBaron Law Offices LLC in 1987, after beginning his practice in 1983. Mr. LeBaron’s practice has focused and emphasized personal injury. Shirl has tried to judgment or settled accident cases in excess of 6 figures. He and his co-counsel set a Wyoming record of a 9.3 million settlement of 3 children with traumatic brain injuries and other injuries. He knows the defense bar, adjusters and medical providers. He has the unique ability to understand the claims process having worked as an insurance adjuster prior to and during the first two years of law school before clerking for a personal injury firm his third year of law school. Mr. LeBaron has also mediated several injury cases and knows the mediators as well.

In addition to personal injury work, Shirl enjoys practicing Adoption Law and loves helping parents start or complete their families with adoptive children. He has handled over a hundred adoptions during his career. He also has connections to outstanding social worker and other professionals who work in the adoption arena.

His background is impressive, and depth and breadth of experiences unique: a former full-time state Juvenile Court Judge pro tem, Assistant Attorney General, guardian ad litem & Parents Defense Counsel, covering all facets of child welfare. He was also a judge pro tem presiding over small claims courts in Provo and Orem for over 15 years.

Mr. LeBaron is a former adjunct professor at Brigham Young University, teaching family law & construction Law. He has served on the Utah Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on the Rules of Juvenile Procedure for two 4-year terms.

Shirl Don gives back to his community. He is a former two-term American Fork city council member (8 years). As a municipal legislator, he drafted and implemented policy and ordinances while reporting to his constituency. He performed quasi-judicial duties in hearing appeals from the City planning Commission and The Board of Adjustments. His executive responsibilities included advising and consenting to appointed officials and being responsible for the Golf Course Committee, Youth Council, Board of Animal Shelter, and Legal Departments.

He formerly served on the City Library Board and was a Planning Commissioner. He is a former board member of the Children’s Justice Center in Moab, Utah, and Moab Regional Hospital. He is a past President of the American Fork Rotary Club.

LeBaron Law Offices was awarded the 2004 Business of the Year by the American Fork Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. LeBaron has experienced success in legal coaching and un-bundling legal services.
He can also mediate cases from divorce, personal injury, and business matters, as a court approved Mediator. He participates in the Utah State Bar Pro-Bono Program and has at least one file in his caseload at all times.

Nesha Thomas – Office Manager/Legal Assistant

Nesha is a dedicated legal assistant at LeBaron Law and Mediation where she plays a key role in ensuring the office operates efficiently. With extensive experience in a variety of legal areas, including family law, personal injury, bankruptcy, estate planning, and adoptions, Nesha brings a broad skill set to every case. She is committed to delivering high-quality results and ensures that all tasks are completed with precision and attention to detail.

Her background in office management, client relations, legal matters, and document preparation allows her to provide exceptional support to both the law office and clients. Nesha is known for her strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and her calm, professional demeanor in every situation.

Outside of her professional life, Nesha enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, four children and two grandchildren.

Mindy Horne – Accounts Manager

Mindy began working at LeBaron Law Offices in 2013. She is skilled in organization and is detail-oriented. She has a broad exposure to legal matters and works with complex personal injury matters, adoptions, family law, bankruptcy, and estate planning matters. She is professional in her approach and seeks solutions. She is excellent in seeing things that need to be done and completes the tasks. Her family is her greatest joy in life. She is married and has five children and eight grandchildren. Mindy is currently completing her degree at Brigham Young University.
